Bandipur

the tree splays over many winters
the bark succumbs to the woodpecker, under

the eyes of the owl the pond ripples, fungii rises
midnight mesmerised by a waterfall

enriching the glowing river, whose rocks
move into slow crocodiles
a tiger crawls into the grass

who’s eyes plot,the careful movement
of deers alerted
by the fragrance of cold breezes
